Rod Bussinger
Mile High PF

October - 2009

The Mile High PF chapter in Kimball County was formed in 1988.   Rod has been involved with the Mile High Chapter since 1996 when he volunteered to serve as a committee member.  Rod currently serves as the Chapter’s President, and has been in this position for 5 years.

Since 1988, the Mile High chapter has spent over $321,000 on 1,046 habitat projects (38,956 total acres).  In 2008, the chapter spent over $19,000 and worked on projects that benefited over 803 acres.  The chapter has also conducted 6 Youth Mentor Hunt events for 59 kids in the Kimball County area the last six years.

Rod’s chapter financially supports a number of statewide and national habitat programs that help bring additional matching dollars into their county and the entire state of Nebraska.  Habitat programs include: Bill Baxter Scholarship Fund, Legislative Action Fund, CRP-MAP, Corners For Wildlife, and the State Habitat Raffle.  These programs benefit landowners, outdoor enthusiast and wildlife alike each year and would not be possible without the chapter’s support!

Not only does Rod lead his local PF chapter, but he also supports a number of other community organizations and finds time to lend his talents to the Elks Foundation, the Eagles, the American Legion, the V.F.W., and Ducks Unlimited.  Rodney enjoys Nebraska Football, hunting, bike riding, softball, gardening, and anything to do with spending time outdoors.

Rod is currently employed with the Nebraska Army National Guard and has served as a Battalion Career Counselor the last 4 1/2 years.  Rod has served his Country a total of 17 years in the Nebraska Army National Guard!  Rod lives with his son Brent and his fiance Cyndi outside of Kimball where they all donate their time and talents to make the Mile High PF chapter a huge success in Western Nebraska.

Pheasants Forever would like to thank Rod and his family for serving this great Country, and for all their time and effort in improving the natural resources in Western Nebraska and beyond!
